Moro case: the hidden truths
Since the interview Stefania limits which I reported about in the previous post.
Despite being part of those who argue that the Moro case is yet to be written in its entirety, I find it difficult to trust this source, especially because it says ... too. If this testimony were true, it would be perfectly clear, all too easy ... The mysteries of the case would vanish. Then we go and prudence.
the tunnel of the Moro case continue to go out bits of truth: after over three decades from the black page, check another witness. Do not want to reveal himself and call him Mr. Mario, but we believe that his words should be taken seriously, especially after the Rome prosecutors also thought desirable listen. Mr. Mario was a young conscript in March 1978 and had an experience that he never wanted to tell because they said so, perhaps a little tenderness, to do. She called me after reading the Ring of the Republic, choosing to confide in a story that does not want to leave alone in a corner of his memory.
D. What has to tell me?
R. I was part of a group of ten men chosen to keep under observation by Montalcini. It was April 23, 1978. They told us where we were and what to do once arrived: we left Naples and did not know what to expect.
D. And what you said to do?
R. They told us to monitoring the apartment where he was arrested on the. Moro. Our main task was to control all the movements from that apartment. We had a control location: situated on the road was a lamppost for street lighting which was dismantled piece by piece by false technical Enel, taken to a police station where he was installed a micro camera inside the light bulb; was used to see the movement inside the apartment. We had to then monitor the movements around the building and kept under observation the garbage cans. Moro was held, they said, the apartment's floor, one with the garden. In one of the first floor had been placed microphones high reception able to capture even the smallest noise. Sophisticated stuff for its time, provided, in fact, by foreign agents. I remember seeing the four red Renault parked in the yard that gave the garage and another car, a Rover with foreign number plates and one or perhaps more fines placed on the windshield. One day he was taken away and was quite shocked when I saw her in the yard of the barracks on Via Aurelia.
D. How long was this mission?
R. Until the 8th of May, one day before the tragic epilogue of the kidnapping. They told us that our task was over and that they would be returned to our destinations. I went back to Avellino and then I had the sheet of transfer Battipaglia (Salerno). I was told to forget what I saw and did in Rome.
D. Why else?
R. We were told that we would have consequences. I have always been afraid and I never wanted to tell my experience. Now with all the caution I decided to do it, maybe you can help, I do not know.
D. What happened to his companions?
R. Of them have not had more news. Maybe they sent us in barracks far away, just to ensure that we meet again. Who knows, this is certainly not at the bottom of the mystery of history ..
The experience of Mr. Mario may suggest many things but all should be verified. And 'certainly stunned: during the 55 days of the kidnapping of Aldo Moro no one knew of the existence of a nest on a prison-Montalcini. General Dalla Chiesa suggested his hypothesis at a hearing in parliament, namely, that output from Via Montalcini was a Renault 4 that morning, but empty. What Moro was not there. However, he knew that someone in that apartment was not just an ordinary young couple. As was observed from a distance, the haunt of street Gradoli: The Ring said one man, explaining that he was prevented a raid to free Moro. The impression, almost certainly at this point is that during the abduction of the President of the DC, the movements of the Red Brigades were followed constantly, but with large, great discretion.
