Simpson paints a warm, vivid picture of the climbing fraternity and Approaches to fusion of poetry and philosophy Sometimes With His descriptions of the impact of one oneself facing down the fear of dying; through this coming closer to understanding death, and thereby, life joyously.

My opinion : the second book by Joe Simpson, the British climber known to the folly of its businesses. British madness that only some (perhaps even more 'that the Americans) often introduce their choices and their manner of proceeding in the mountains. Here the author recounts some of some of his avvenure, right on the limit. The specter that friends are just lost in these companies. Against him, destiny, while avendogli did pay a price, often high, and 'was, in short, more' lenient.
