Sicilian puppets and their history
The term Paladino, from the Latin Palatinus (the building), describes each of the 12, to serve in the army of Charlemagne, they covered the more charges high military order and formed a sort of guard of honor of the Emperor. The puppets are an expression of that spirit epic, heroic and chivalrous, that the
medieval Chanson de geste the great poems of Boiardo and Ariosto, to a whole tradition of literary, musical, arts.
The puppets express the will to continue to fight in what has been called "the most invisible of the invisible war" which, to our ideals, we argue within ourselves rather than outside.
